~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~∼Elizabeth Curry (Curey) was born June 15, 1867 in Indiana. Her guardians (parents) were Patrick and Elizabeth Curry. Elizabeth had an older brother, Jacob Curry. Her family moved to Center Township, Saunders, Nebraska around 1880; it was here that Lizzie met her husband, Alexander Andrew.
Alex and Lizzie married on May 6, 1886 in Marietta Township, Saunders, Nebraska. They had eight children: Mathew, Alexander, Edward, Isaac, Elizabeth, Margaret, George and William.
Lizzie's was widowed on May 24, 1905 when Alexander Andrew passed into eternal Glory. Lizzie married Thomas Gibbons in 1908 and moved to Florence, Nebraska. To this union was born one daughter, Mary Gibbons.
Having suffered with heart problems for some time, Elizabeth Curry Andrew Gibbons passed into eternal Glory on the 12th of November 1919. She was 52-years-old. Elizabeth was survived by five of her children and her 2nd husband.
Newspaper Article - Obituary: In 1886 she was married to Alexander Andrews, at Wahoo, Neb . . . four children were born to this . . . all of whom are living in Florence. They are Mrs. Swan Swanson, Mrs. Arnold Herskinds, George and William Andrews, the husband having died about twelve years ago.
In 1908 she was married the second time at Wahoo, to Thomas Gibbons, and they came to Florence to live about two years later, where she has resided up to the time of her death. A daughter, Mary, was born, who with her half brothers and sisters are left to sincerely mourn the loss of a mother, counselor and friend.
Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Patton, officiating, followed by burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
