Visitation will be 3:00-7:00 pm Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm. Mrs. Moreno died Saturday September 5, 2015 at her home. Gabriela Terronez was born March 11, 1919, in Silvis, the daughter of Benito and Felisa Aguiano Terronez. She married Anthony L. Moreno September 16, 1934, at the original Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. He died May 30, 2001.

Gabriela was an outdoors person, she loved tending to her garden and especially loved her peony flowers. She enjoyed crocheting and spent many hours crocheting things for family. She always had a big heart for animals and felt a deep affection for her doves. Her family was important to her and she took care of them with so much love and care. She always had a big smile on her face anytime family members came over to visit. She would welcome them in right away and especially loved seeing the little ones. She liked to cook for her family and would always have “goodies” on hand for she, too, had a sweet tooth. She was a strong woman in faith and love and attended mass regularly. Her faith was a priority to her and her home, which she cherished, was always filled with beautiful religious statues and pictures of the Virgin Mary. She recited her rosary daily and walked in the path of spirituality, devotion and humbleness. She was a larger than life matriarch to her family and her memory will not soon be forgotten.
