Bowmans Observe 59th Marriage Anniversary

Patriots’ Day was the 59th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Bowman of West Falmouth. They were married April 19, 1889 in the Falmouth Congregational church parsonage by the Rev. C.O. Hill.

Mr. and Mrs. Bowman were childhood sweethearts and have lived all their lives in West Falmouth. Before her marriage, Mrs. Bowman was Miss Anna L. Lumbert, daughter of James M. and Martha H. Lumbert.

Mr. Bowman is the son of Capt. Francis and Abbie Ann Bowman. Mr. Bowman will observe his 82nd birthday on September 27. Mrs. Bowman will be 79 on July 1. He is a member of Marine Lodge, A. F. & A. M. Mrs. Bowman is a member of the Good Will chapter, G.E.S. and a former member of Megansett Grange.

They are known as one of the happiest and most devoted of couples and called by all the neighborhood "Aunt Anna" and "Uncle Jim". They cerebrated this wedding anniversary quietly as Mrs. Bowman has been in ill health for several months.
