Rebecca A. Black, 68, of Franklin, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, at her home. Born May 27, 1947, in Franklin, Rebecca was the daughter of the late Elmer L. and Marie Jones Young.

On Feb. 12, 1966, she married Vernon L. Black, who preceded her in death.

She was a 1965 graduate of Franklin High School, worked as an agent for Hallmark in Hanover, as well as a homemaker, attended Fox Street Church of God and the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren in Christ Church, enjoyed going to antique stores and flea markets, spending time in Amish Country in Lancaster, was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid Pirates baseball fan, as well.

Surviving are sons, Vernon L. Black Jr. of Herminie, and Darin S. Black, and wife, Delia, of Gettysburg; three grandchildren; and one cousin, Don Neidich. In addition to her parents and late husband, Rebecca was preceded in death by her brother, Elmer Young; and her cousin, Buzz Neidich.

Services will be at 4:30 pm Wednesday Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin, with Rev. Lonny Wolford, pastor of the Fox St. Church of God, officiating. Interment will follow at Graham Cemetery.
