Obituary
The Pella Chronicle; July 20th 1939, Page 9
This story of the life of Mrs. G. Bennink came from her children:
On Saturday, July 15, 1939, we were suddenly plunged into sorrow with the death of our dear mother, Mrs. Gerrit Bennink, nee Anna Vogelaar, at the age of 73 years, 1 month and 15 days.
She was born on a farm east of Pella. She was united in marriage to Gerrit Bennink March 25, 1891. To this union four children were born: Mrs. Gerrit Den Hartog, Mrs. Gerard Gosselink, Henry, Tunis, who preceded her in death at the age of 17 years. Her husband died one year and four months ago.
She also leaves to mourn 9 grandchildren, 6 brothers, Jacob, Tunis, Neal, Leonard, Ben and Gary Vogelaar and 2 sisters, Mrs. Arie Kleinjan and Mrs. Gradus Vander Linden.
Three brothers Will, Peter, and John and sister, Mrs. John Den Hartog preceded her in death.
She was a faithful member of the Third Reformed church and of the Dorcas society of which she was secretary of 20 years.
We are convinced that she is now with her Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Funeral services were held at the home of 1:30 o'clock p.m. Monday, July 17th and at 2:00 o'clock at the Third Reformed church, with the Reverend G. Menning, her pastor, in charge. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery.
