Los Angeles Boy Killed in Well Accident Near Palmdale

Robert Carr, a young Los Angeles man, about 18 years of age, was killed last Friday in an accident which occurred at the Dr. Brockett ranch, near Palmdale. Carr was working on a platform in a well pit at five feet from the surface, when it is said that some part of the apparatus broke and fell onto the platform, causing it to break loose and fall a hundred feet to the bottom. It is thought that the victim was struck on the head when the crash occurred and was rendered unconscious before coming in contact with the water. An autopsy revealed that the death was caused by drowning. Upon the body being recovered it was brought to the Mumaw mortuary in Lancaster, where the autopsy was held Saturday night.
The funeral was conducted by Rev. H. E. Hooper at the Lancaster Community Church at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Burial was made in Lancaster Cemetery.
