He attended elementary, secondary, and high school at Hopewell in Round Rock, TX. Pastor Ralph Daniels joined the United States Air Force, where he served for 20 years before retiring. He pursued and achieved his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice at St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas and worked for the Travis County Sheriff's Department for several years.
Reverend Ralph Daniels pastored at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Austin, Texas for over 22 years. He was also active in the community in various capacities such as Pastors' Covenant Group, Baptist Ministers Union of Austin and Vicinity, St. John Regular Baptist Association, Foreign Ministers Board, and Austin ISD.
He married Margarine Edwards on May 10, 1962 and renewed their vows in May of 2012. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of over 50 years, Margarine Y. Daniels; their children: Faye Prater, Wanza Guyton, Donna Love, Lisa S. Habbit, David A. Daniels, Frances R. Jones, and Catrina N. Daniels; his sister, Frances J. Simpson; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Alma R. Carter and Deborah A. Daniels; and son, Duane K. Daniels.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at Cook Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home. His life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2938 E. 13th Street, Austin, TX 78702.
