Sybil Etrulia Medlin Bailey, 97, formerly of Harper Road, Pendleton, widow of W. G. "Bill" Bailey died Monday, February 19, 2007 at Ellenburg Nursing Home. Born December 13, 1909 in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late John and Doshia Hanks Medlin. She was a homemaker and a member of Southside Baptist Church. Surviving are her two sons: Dr. John R. Bailey and his wife Connie of Lumberton, NC and Joe W. Bailey and his wife Glenda of Iva; three grandchildren: Pamela Bounds, Susan Taylor and John Richard Bailey, II all of Lumberton, NC; five great grandchildren: Bobby Gaddy, Katherine Vann Gaddy, J. R. Nealy, Elise Nealy and Bradley Nealy all of Lumberton, NC; two sisters: Ruth Nelson of Anderson and Violet Medlin of Nashville, TN. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Sara Louise Medlin and Willie Faye Medlin and one brother, Ernest Medlin. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, February 21, at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel with the Rev. J. Floyd Stansell officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 until 11am prior to the service at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, 3205 Hwy 81 North. The family will be at the home of a son Joe and Glenda Bailey, 714 Project Road, Iva.
