Neodesha Derry was born March 5, 1870, in the just formed town of Neodesha, Kansas, in Wilson County. The Neodesha Town Company, as a result, deeded her family the lots on which they have resided. She was reared and educated there and in November 1891 she was married to Thomas Fulton, a Frisco railroad conductor, and for a short period of time they has a happy a household as there was in the city. But after the birth of their first baby which lived but a few months, she entered into a decline which resulted in her death. Her husband Thomas Fulton first took her to Colorado where they spent two hot months last summer, and in November he took her to Florida where she remained all winter until May, it it all seemed to avail nothing.
She professed conversion while at Tampa, Florida, where she had been taken by her devoted husband, who left nothing undone that promised her relief, and she was perfectly resigned, dying as she expressed it herself, perfectly happy and trusting fully in the Lord. She met death peacefully and happy, without a word of complaint, the greatest loss seeming to be the husband, relatives, and many friends to whom she had endeared herself by her loving and gentle manner.
A private funeral services was conducted Sunday afternoon by Reverend Funston and was largely attended by sympathizing friends, at the residence of her sister, Mrs. Eva Lee Derry-Eaton, South Third Street & Ohio, Neodesha, where she was cared for during the last few months of her life. She was laid to rest in the Neodesha Cemetery in the Old Section in Block 1, Lot 107, in Space 4, adjoining her son Russell Fulton who is buried next to her, his stone being directly behind hers. She was 25 years, 6 months, and 2 days old.

To access her grave from the main 12th Street road, you go to the Old Addition, the last right turn, then take the first left turn an it will curve around north and turn east. A large tree is next to her gravestone, with many memory coins in the little scroll ledge on the front. Her son Russell is right behind, east, of her stone.

She was the fourth child of Charles William Derry (1825-1911) born in Ohio, and his wife Rachel Bogue (1843-1922) born in Vermont, Fulton County, Illinois.
