Judy Ann Shirley

Mrs. Judy Ann Shirley, age 73 of Wildfork, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Shirley was born in Walnut Springs, CA. She had been a resident of Monroe County since 1978. Mrs. Shirley was a member of Mexia Baptist Church and the Monroe County Women's Cattlemen Association. She worked with the Monroe County Board of Education as a school secretary. Mrs. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Allen Clyde Staggs and Nora Nancy Petet Staggs.

Survivors include her husband, Don Shirley of Wildfork; her sons, Charles Allen Shirley and wife Pam of Mexia, and Larry "Bear" Shirley of Excel; her daughter, Lisa Evans and husband Mitch of Monroeville; one brother, Roy Staggs and wife Myrna of Lufkin, TX; six grandchildren, Jill Porterfield, Julie Evans, Dylan Shirley, Bryson Shirley, Ethan Shirley, and Eli Shirley; and two great grandchildren, Emma Porterfield and Evan Porterfield.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Mexia Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne McMillian officiating. Burial will follow in Mexia Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, September 5th from 12:30 to 2:00 PM at the church.
