Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, went home to be with her Lord on August 21, 2011. Irene was born on December 6, 1934 to Merle and Emma Johnson in Sutton, Nebraska. As a child she lived in Nebraska and Minnesota, then moved to Tacoma, Washington in 1952 with her twin sister Ilene. There she met and married her husband, James.
Irene was a member of Fellowship Christian Church. She cooked for Pleasant Valley Christian Camp near Mt Baker and provided many delicious meals and cookies for the camp and her church. Her concern in last few months was that she was unable to make cookies for cookie hour at church.
Irene was a wonderful example of all who knew her.
Survived by her husband, James, son, Greg (Cindy), six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
