Funeral service for Wendy Thompson, 54, of Little Eagle, SD, will be 11:00 AM CT, Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 at Messiah UCC Church of rural Little Eagle. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the services at the church. Cremation will follow the services. Wendy passed away on Friday, August 28, 2015, at her home. Kesling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Wendy joined the Spirit World at too early of an age. Wendy was 54 years old.

Wendy Thompson was born in the city of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada on December 10, 1960. She was the last child of Edna M. Sallis and Fred Sallis. Wendy was raised in Portland, Oregon along with her siblings Mike Sallis, Nikki Green.

In December, 1979 she met Wayne Thompson, her husband of 35 years until her passing. They started their family In January, 1981 with the birth of their first child, Wallace Mean Bear Thompson and continued to build their family to six children and were blessed with the last child Marlin Jim Thompson in January of 1988. Other children include Raven Margaret Thompson, Noel Tyrone Thompson, Neil Cross Bear Thompson, Leighton Lee Thompson. Before she began her life with Wayne she was blessed with her first children, Christina One Star and Kyle Lone Wolf.

Wendy was committed to her family and her Children's Education from their very first day of school. She supported the Head Start Program and Elementary School in Little Eagle, South Dakota by volunteering her time, utilizing her creativity in the form of arts and crafts, assisting the cooks in preparing meals for the children, and making baked goods to support fund raisers. Wendy enjoyed making homemade photo albums for students graduating from the Elementary School and was known to pour her heart into each and every album made. She became an Assistant Teacher and eventually a Teacher at the Little Eagle Head Start.

Wendy dedicated her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, and friends of the family. Her heart was pure and selfless and her path led straight in the family's direction.

Wendy was preceded in death by: Fred Sallis, Wallace Thompson, and Noel Thompson.

Wendy is survived by: Edna Sallis, Nikki Green, Mike Sallis, Wayne Thompson, Raven Thompson, Neil Thompson, Leighton Thompson, Marlin Thompson, and Christina One Star.
