MRS. S. W. MOORE
Mrs. S. W. Moore of Nodaway died Friday, August 12, 1927 at her home in Nodaway, following a stroke of paralysis on February 21, from which she never recovered.
Bessie Perry Moore, was born in Dunegal, Ireland, in 1853 and when just a small girl she moved with her parents to Rock Island, Illinois and later to Omaha, where she was married to Samuel W. Moore on February 6, 1888. For the last 24 years she has been a resident of Nodaway. She leaves to mourn her death her husband and one son, Wiliam A. Moore of Hector, Minnesota. A daughter, Martha M. Lacox, preceded her in death four years ago. A brother, Hamilton Perry of Rock Island, Illinois, also survives her.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Presbyterian Church in Nodaway, with Rev. Silas Overholser of Hamburg in charge. the pall bearers were six great nephews of the deceased, Forest, Ray, Roy, Lloyd, Joe, and Judd Means.
Relatives from a distance in attendance at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Moore and children, Mrs. Means, Mrs. McDonald and nephew of Omaha, Trurman Shaw and daughter Harriett of Creston, Ray Means of Mason City and Forest Means and family of Des Moines, Iowa. Burial was in Villisca Cemetery.
