WOODLAND - Sylvia A. Green, 85 of Woodland died Tueday, Nov. 29, 2005, at Clearfield Hospital.
Born July 19, 1926. at Clearfield, she was a daughter of Dayton and Grace (Snedden) Shifter.
Mrs. Green was a homemaker and had done bookkeeping for her husband's trucking business, Resse Green Trucking, for many years.
She had bowled with the ladies coffee League, Clearfield, for many years.
Surviving are four sons, Harold R. Green and his wife, Jean A., Dennis W. Green and his wife Shelia, and Terry Lee Green and his wife, Tammy, all of Woodland, and Thomas D. Green and His wife, Marilyn, of West Decatur; 11 grandchildren, Pam Green, William Green, Dennis E. Green, Vicky Conway, Harold Wayne Green, Matthew Green, Christina Green, Janette Green, Jennifer Casher, Christine Brnik and William Melius Jr.; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four sisters, Geraldine Turner, Roselia Koozer, Helen Jean Owens and her husband, George and Hazel Shifter, and a brother, Clyde Shifter and his wife, Eleanor, all of Clearfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reese E. Green, who she wed on June 29, 1941, and who died Jan. 6, 1992; two granddaughters, Sonya Green and Amy Casher; and three brothers, John, Gordon and Doryce Shifter.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, with Pastor Brenda Libreatori officiating.
Interment will be in Bradford Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home tomorrow from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of services.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, c/o the Rev. Thomas C. Lenker, P.O. Box 416, Bigler, PA 16825; the American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Building D, Suite 101, Altoona, PA 16501; or the charity of the donor's choice.
