Maxine Hunter-Crawley, 88, of Markleville, passed away on August 31, 2015 at her residence. She was born on February 17, 1927 in Mitchell, Indiana.

Maxine graduated from Mitchell High School.

She was a cook at Fall Creek Elementary School, van driver for Hopewell, manager of Dorothy Blevins Tea Cart, and greeter at Robert Loose Funeral Home. She will be remembered mostly as a wonderful cake baker and decorator.

She was a member of Southdale Church of the Nazarene where she was church board secretary for 50 years and attended Maple Grove Church of God with her son and daughter-in-law. She also served as a volunteer for Contact Help and St. John's Hospital.

Maxine is survived by her children, Lonny (Karen) Hunter and Mary (Jerry) Avalos, 10 grandchildren, Monika (Jim) Estes, Veronika (Kyle) Hall, Megan Douglas, Christopher (Heather) Hunter, Matthew (Joanna) Hoover, Joshua (Rhiannon) Hoover, Daryll Hunter, Nikki Knoedler, Daniel Avalos and Vincente Avalos, great-grandchildren, Jameson Estes, Jackson Estes, Joe Estes, Ty Hall, Lia Hall, Blake Hall, Lilly Douglas, Wyatt Douglas, Carson Douglas, Abigail Douglas, Vaughan Douglas, Kendall Hoover, Madelyn Hoover, Elaina Hoover, Declan Hoover, Iyana Hunter, Talen Sandy and Isabell Avalos.

She was preceded in death by mother, Nancy Mae (Chastain) Blevins, father, William Rodden Blevins, husband, John H. Crawley, son, Rodney Hunter, brother, Donald Blevins and great-granddaughter Ari, Hall.
