By 1840 they had moved to Missouri settling first in Wells, Macon county, Missouri and in 1850 they were in District 91, Schuyler County, Missouri. In 1860 Elizabeth Sluss is a widow, living in Cooke County, Texas with several of her children. It is believed that she died before 1870 her burial place is unknown but believed to be in Cooke County, Texas.
