She grew up in National City, attending Highland Avenue Elementary, National City Junior High, Sweetwater High School, transferring to San Diego High School where she graduated in 1934. In both Sweetwater and San Diego High she played viola in the school orchestras. She was also an accomplished piano accompanist.
In her teen years she was a competitive gymnast at the German Turnverein in San Diego. She was an escrow officer for the Bank of America in Costa Mesa, Ca, retiring after 21 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Douglas in 2002 and her sister, Carol Langston in 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Sherrill Leui of Lewisville, Texas, son, David Morrison of Lakeview, Arkansas. She leaves five grandchildren, Deborah Guffey and Jean Weber of Lewisville, Texas, Victor Morrison of Potsboro, Texas, William Morrison of Keller, Texas and Julie Brannin of Irving, Texas plus 13 great-grandchildren.
