Rose Darline Boyer, 87, of Monmouth, IL, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015, to be with her beloved husband, Ray M. Boyer, who she married in Burlington, Ia. on June 15, 1946, he preceded her in death on May 10, 2015. She was born December 30, 1927, in Burlington, Ia., the daughter of Lowell C. and Mary Elizabeth (Siens) Booten. She had been a farm wife, mother, and grandmother, when she decided to go back to school at age 59 and became a nurse at age 61. Her passions were her husband, family, traveling and bowling. She had the special honor of being inducted into the Iowa Bowling Hall of Fame in 2014. She combined two of her passions by traveling all over the county for bowling tournaments with her wonderful, fun loving bowling pals. Rose was the wonderful mother to Michael (Vicki) Boyer, Anthony (Jan) Boyer and Amy (John) Twomey. She was the grandest of Grandmothers to Heather Boyer (Patrick) Bracy, Christopher (Michelle) Boyer, Amber Twomey (Steve) Kramer, Abbey Twomey, and Kelsey Twomey. She was also the greatest great grandmother to Harrison and Laura Rose Bracy; Nicole, Melanie, Stephanie Boyer; Ashley, Janie, Mary Jo Kramer; and Jett Twomey. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one granddaughter, Ashley Twomey. A Celebration of Rose’s Life will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2015 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Please come and share stories and laughter with the family and friends and celebrate the 87 years of Rose’s blessed life. Cremation has been accorded with a private family interment in Biggsville Cemetery at later date.
