Kidnap and murder victim.

Brooke was kidnapped on June 25, 2008 in Vermont and later found murdered in a shallow grave on July 2, 2008 in Randolph Center, Vermont.
Her uncle Michael Jacques and her step-father Raymond Gagnon are being accused and held in custody for the kidnapping Brooke.


Braintree, Brooke Marie Bennett, 12, died last week in Randolph Center.
She was born July 12, 1995 in Randolph the daughter of James Bennett and Cassandra Adams.
Brooke attended Braintree school and had just completed seventh grade at Randolph Union High School where she was a member of the girl's basketball and lacrosse teams. She loved her pets "Lily" the cat and "Scruffy" her dog. Brooke liked to watch Sponge Bob and Hanna Montana on TV and reading. She also liked to eat bagels, popcorn and spaghetti and was known to put ketchup on everything. She belonged to the Girl Scouts of America Troop #510 in Bethel.

She is survived by her mother Cassandra Gagnon of Braintree, her father and step-mother James and Janet Bennett of Bethel, a sister Savanna Andress of Braintree, 3 brothers; Dennis Andress of Braintree, Nickolas Bennett and Cyrus Bennett both of Bethel, her maternal grandmother Lucinda Milne of Braintree, her paternal grandparents, David & Arlene St. Pierre of Bethel, her maternal grandfather Dennis Adams of St. Petersburg, FL, her maternal great-grandmother Lilla Woodard of Randolph Center and her step-grandparents Osmyn and Sandra Stevens of Bethel.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 9, 11:00 A.M. Outdoors, behind Randolph Union High School with Rev. Ronald E. Rilling and Pastor Thomas Harty officiating. Calling hours will be Tuesday evening 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Murray Auditorium at Randolph Union High School.
