Ernst Johann Hohle was born September 17, 1861 to John Hohle (1825-1889) and Hanna Sarodnick (1826-1870) in Serbin, Lee County, Texas.
He married widow Emma Clementine Symank-Hohle (1871-1947) on December 16, 1902 at the St Paul Lutheran Church in The Grove, Coryell County, Texas. Emma was first married in 1898 to Charley August Hohle (1866-1901 - aka Charles aka Carl on census records)and had two Hohle children via her 1st marriage before Charley died in 1901, being:
1) Alma Selma Wilhelmine Hoyle (1899-1957) who married Walter Randolph Fritsche (1896-1974); and
2) Emil Karl Gerhard Hohle (1900-1929)
Ernest Johann Hohle raised the above two Hohle children as his own and he and Emma had at least 4 Hohle chidren born before Ernst died in 1922, being:
1) Albert Ernst Hohle (1903-1955) who married Mary Louise Fritsche (1903-1936)
2) Johann Otto Samuel Hohle (1905-1963) who married Frieda Louise Exner (1903-1985)
3) Johann Emil Gerhard Hohle (1907-1990)who married Mathila "Tilda" Marie Fritsche (1908-1995)
4) Minna Emma Marie Hohle (1909-1961) who married Louis G Beisert (1896-1961)
After Ernest Johann Hohle died in 1922, *Emma Clementine Symank-Hohle-Hohle (his widowed wife) married widowed *Johann August Lehmann (1864-1948) in 1924.
*Note: Emma and her 3rd spouse Johann August Lehmann are found in the 1930 and 1940 census in Giddings where her husband was a janitor for Giddings Schools (1930) and a janitor for the Giddings Jail (1940). August Lehmann emigrated from Germany to Texas in 1881. He was a farmer and later a custodian and was first married in 1886 to Anna Marie Domaschke-Radusch (widow of Karl Heinrich Radusch who had two Radusch children before Karl died in 1885)and they had at least 11 known children born of their marriage before Ann Marie (his wife) died in 1922. He then married in 1924 to Emma Clementine Smyank-Hohle-Hohle who predeceased him in 1947 and then he died in 1948. Johann August Lehmann and Emma had no known Lehmann children born of their marriage.
