Daughter of John Brooks. Death cert #41818.∼Martha was born in Paducah, Kentucky to Josiah Brooks and Martha Barding. She was noted in the 1850 census as age 2 in McCracken County, Kentucky census and age 12 in the 1860 Shelby County, Illinois census. She wed Henry Taylor in Christian County, Illinois on October 3, 1880. She is noted in the 1900 Shelby County, Illinois census with Henry and two daughters and noted she had 5 children and 4 alive. Her age and place born was blank and census taker noted that she was too ignorant to give correct data. In 1910, she was living with her daughter Myrtle White in Vernon County, Missouri, as a widow.
