He was in the employ of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, having served in the capacity of freight clerk for 23 years. He was a member of the Oriole Lodge, Junior Order of the United American Mechanics and also a member of the Heptasophs and the council of Trinity English Lutheran Church.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Augusta Born, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Helen A. Millard.
The funeral took place at the Trinity English Lutheran Church, with Pastor, Rev. Edwin E. Ide presiding. The pallbearers, all members of the Trinity Church Council were Messrs. W. C. Schmidt, W. C. Reany, G. William Jentner, E. S. Fitz, John Stolzenbach and J. H. Biggs.
