Urban C. (Urb) Brown, 76, of Tahoka died in Wellington Saturday morning, May 28. He and his wife had come Friday to attend the Dozier Reunion and he became ill after he arrived. He was a brother of Clyde Brown and grew up in the Plymouth community. Mr. Brown was born January 20, 1912 in Erath County, the son of John Brown and Nancy Roberson Brown. The family moved to the Plymouth community in 1920 where the 10 children grew up. Five of the brothers became teachers, Urban Brown, Clyde Brown, Dr. Olie T. Brown, Ed Brown, and the late Claude Brown. Urban Brown received his degree from West Texas State University and taught at Groom, Tahoka and Wilson.

At the time of his death, he was co-owner of a ready to wear business in Tahoka. He was married to Lonell Throckmorton of Samnorwood in September 1937. Mr. Brown was a member of First Baptist Church, Tahoka. Survivors are his wife Lonell Brown of Tahoka; a daughter, Sharon Black, (Mrs. Eddie Black); two grandchildren, Todd Black and Lori Black; brothers, Clyde Brown of Wellington, Sampy Brown of Sacramento, Calif., Dr. Olie Brown of Riverside, Calif., and Clois Brown of Colton, Calif., and one sister, Ruby Adams of Lynwood, Calif. He was preceded in death by
three brothers, Ed Brown, Cecil Brown and Claude Brown, and a
sister Ewell Brown and a sister, Eunice Phillips.
