She was born September 17, 1928 in Jackson, TN the daughter of the late Norman Barnes and Florence Victoria Hunt Barnes. She attended school at Malesus. She met Gene Stanfill in 1950 and they married on September 15, 1953 after a three year courtship. Next month they would have celebrated 65 years together. Adelia was a homemaker, a loving wife and mother. She loved cooking and she loved the Lord. She was a member of the Bemis Pentecostal Church for seven years then has been a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Lexington, TN for several years.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters Amelia Pierce and Mary Ann McNeal; a brother Norman Earl Barnes and a granddaughter Jeannie Michelle Wadley.
