William was born in Aberdare, Glamorgan Co, Wales. Came to America in 1903 with his father William Edwards, and his brother David Lewis Edwards. They lived in Danville, Vermilion County, IL. Williams father was a Coal Miner. William moved to Detroit, MI and was employed with Ford Motor Company. William retired from Ford Motor Company and lived there until he deceased. William never married. He was to be cremated and placed in Crown Hill Cemetery in a Mausoleum by his neice Helen Lucille (Royce)Drissell.
