Alan D. "Al" Lafferty, 55, of Altoona, passed away Friday at his residence following a brief battle with cancer.
He was born in Altoona, son of Nelson J. and Dolores (Aiken) Lafferty. His father preceded him in death in 1997.
Surviving are his mother; two sons: Adam and Alex; a sister, Debra Foust and husband Woody and a brother, Jeffery, all of Altoona.
Alan was preceded in death by a brother, Gregory Scott in 1987.
He was a graduate of Altoona Area Sr. High School, class of 1978. Al was employed by Mid State Tool and Supply in the shipping department.
Alan enjoyed gardening.
At the request of the family there will be no viewing. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
