Elmer Isdore Aplet, 66, died Thursday afternoon in a local hospital after a brief illness. He was born May 13, 1891, in Oregon and resided in Eureka at 3311 E Street for the past five years. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge of Toledo, Oregon.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Frances Aplet of Eureka; a daughter, Mrs. Jean Murphy of Eureka; three brothers, Charles Aplet of Toledo, Ore., Raleigh Aplet of Glenn Eden, Ore.; and Sam Aplet of San Francisco; and grandchildren Rita and Linda Murphy of Eureka.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. from Cooper Mortuary Chapel of the Ferns with the Rev. Claude Porter officiating. Burial will be in Ocean View Cemetery.
