A resident of Amite died at 4:20 PM on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. He was born October 12, 1938 in Chackbay, LA and was 76 years of age. He was a former Amite City Councilman, a volunteer fireman for Tangi Fire District #1 where he received Fireman of the Year. He was also a member of Amite Oyster Board and a member of First Baptist Church of Amite. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Brenda Ryals Adams; his children, Libby Smith and husband, Jerry, Peggy Faunce and husband, David, Tammy Jones and husband, Jeff , Kelly Adams and Christy Rohner and husband, John; 11 grandchildren, Adam Smith and wife, Jeannie, Alan Smith and wife Christina, Abby Berget and husband, Matthew, Megan Sykes and husband, Ryan, Austin Faunce, J.J. Jones and Brooke Tetrick, Amy Dees, Patrick Dees and wife, Jessica, Daniel Dees, John Thomas Rohner, III, and Brendan Eli Rohner; 13 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Darrell Adams and wife, Shirley, Peggy Howes and husband, Joe, Rowena Mitchell, Annette Annison, Helen Muller, Kelley Adams, Ted Adams and wife, Byrel and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Ethel Adams; 3 brothers, Elson, Hulon, and Vincent Adams. Visitation at First Baptist Church of Amite from 10 AM until religious services at 1 PM on Wednesday, August 26, 2015. Services conducted by Rev. Mike Foster. Interment Amite Memorial Gardens, Amite.
