Jerome John Gold was born on September 22, 1930 in Fredericksburg, Texas to Alma (Knopp) and Guenther Theodore Gold. He served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Coca Cola for 30 years, bookkeeping and managing the Uvalde plant. He was a member of the Lions Club and American Legion for many years. He had a great love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends and family – especially his grandchildren. He was a most loving person who enjoyed visiting with and getting to know people. He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Sloan and husband, Randy, of Uvalde, and Patty Jett and husband, Mike, of Knippa; one brother, George Gold of Bulverde; six grandchildren, Megan Thomas and husband, Zane, of Cuero, Macy Jett of Boston, Massachusetts, and Shelby Sloan, Tamara Gold, Jenna Sloan, and Jerod Gold, all of Uvalde; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennielea Gold; and one daughter, Barbara Gold.
