Rev. Figge was graduated from Dubuque Theological Seminary in Iowa in 1867 and was ordained to Presbyterian ministry that same year by the Presbytery of Cedar Rapids. He was the pastor at the German Presbyterian Church in Muscatine, Iowa (1867-1872), after which he served congregations in Wisconsin and the Dakotas until 1896. He then pastored the German Presbyterian Churches in Hope and Sibley, Iowa (1897-1898). He was honorably retired in 1899 and moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
