KEITH A. CUNNINGHAM passed away on November 3, 2012 in Rockville, Maryland. He was 90 years old. Mr. Cunningham was born in Weaver, West Virginia to James and Blanche Cunningham on August 21, 1922. From 1942-1943 he worked as a construction engineer for Gibbs & Hill, Inc., New York City. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946. He was a Sergeant, 419th Bombardment Squadron, 301st Bombardment Group. After the service, he attended West Virginia University, graduating with a Bachelors in Business Administration, 1948 He was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa society. He graduated from West Virginia College of Law with a Juris Doctor in 1951. He was inducted into Phi Delta Phi, Legal Honor Society while in law school. He was admitted to the bars of the states of Michigan, West Virginia and was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. He joined the accounting firm of Touche Ross and Co. in 1952 where he rose to the position of Executive Administrative Partner and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. During these years he served as a lecturer for the West Virginia Tax Institute, a member of the Council for Reorganization of Ohio State Government, Treasurer of the Michigan Employers Unemployment Compensation Bureau and a member of the Advisory Commission of the Michigan Security Commission. He was admitted to practice public accounting in Indiana, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan,New Jersey, New York, Ohio and West Virginia. He held various committee positions in the AICPA and other professional associations. From 1969 to 2008 his vast experience and extensive skills were applied as a leader in the business world. He served as CEO of Energy Conversion Devices, Inc. in Troy, Michigan from 1969-1972, and a Director from !969-1974. Chairman and CEO United Nuclear Corporation (UNC Resources, Inc.) in Falls Church, VA from 1975-1984 and Chairman and CEO of ATLIS Systems, Inc. in Silver Spring, MD from 1984-2008. He was a Director of ClevePak Corporation. Purchase, New York. Mr. Cunningham was a member of the Congressional Country Club, Potomac, Maryland, The Vero Beach Country Club,Vero Beach Florida, The Farmington Country Club, Charlottesville, Virginia, The Detroit Athletic Club, Detroit, Michigan The Petroleum Club and The Mining Club of New York City. Mr. Cunningham is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jeanne A. Cunningham; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Barbara Cunningham; daughter and son-in-law, Kathe and Ron Messenheimer; granddaughter and spouse, Sharon and James Kelley, and granddaughter and spouse, Laura and Greg Ihrie and granddaughter Jill Messenheimer. Mr. Cunningham was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Lynn Cunningham who died in 1947. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 3 at 1 p.m. at Ingleside at King Farm in Rockville, Maryland.
