Stonewall, LA Jesus wrapped his loving arms around Teresa and carried her home Monday, March 2, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, March7, 2015, 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Segner, associate pastor of Springs of Grace Baptist Church where Teresa was a member. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Friday, March 6, 2015 from 4 until 6 PM at the funeral home.
Teresa was preceded in death by her biological father, Russell Nelson and by her "Special Dad", Vernon Rains who adopted her and her four sisters.
Left to cherish beautiful memories are her mother, Lily Rains; her sisters, Kathleen Irvin and husband Wayne, Rita Severs and husband Donald, Virginia (Ginger) Friday and husband Sammy, and Deborah Tyson and husband Roger. Teresa is also survived by three daughters, Brandi Savell and husband Jason, Kristeen Otwell and husband Lance, and Abby Johnson, six grandchildren; and her fiancé, James Everage.
The family would like to extend their warmest gratitude to her nurse, Stephanie Golden for all her care and compassion provided during this great time of need. God Bless You.
There are absolutely no words to express the dearest heartfelt appreciation to Brother Jeff Segner for the many hours he prayed, counseled and comforted Teresa. He assured her that the best part of life lies ahead, "stored" up in Heaven awaiting her arrival as she meets Jesus face to face.
