Jane Bowen Hardin was the wife of famous western outlaw John Wesley Hardin, and the daughter of Neill Bowen.

The cemetery is located off Mound Creek Road. Location: From Victoria take Highway 72 to Yortown, then go right on 119 to Mound Creek Rd. That angles off to the right. It is about 5 to 6 miles from the turn off. It is on private land probably about 1/2 mile off of Mound Creek Rd. This land lies right on the county lines from Karnes and Gonzales.

I got the directions & Photos from Patsy Hand.south of Smiley on a gravel road to the highway from Gillette to Yorktown on the east side of the road near Mound Creek school house.it is about 3 miles past Nopal and there is a sign on the left side of the road noting the Spellmann and Nooney ranch near a wooden bridge. if traveling from Yorktown, go through Old Davy and turn east at the gravel road just past Bagman black angus farm (about 4 miles from Yorktown); travel east, then bear left past Mound Creek school house, and it is the 2nd wire gate on the right. a windmill can be seen from the road. you have to a short walk toward the windmill, then turn left and the path ends at the cemetery.
jane hardin is the wife of john wesley hardin (outlaw).

Suggested edit: Cemetery is on private property. Permission needed to access. Current location on map is close, but not correct. Can be seen on Google Earth. N29 08 44.11, W97 39 51.36. Contributor: Edward Lanham (46501776) • [email protected]

Suggested edit: The directions are correct, but things have changed in 50 years. Some of the dirt roads are now paved. Mound Creek school is gone, just the front steps remain. Cemetery is on private property. Ask permission. Contributor: Edward Lanham (46501776) • [email protected]
