Doris Beverly “Fair” Brady, age 95, of Azalea, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at her home.

Doris was born July 20, 1917 in Battle Ground, Washington to George Fair and Sarah Eva Leeper Fair. On August 17, 1940 in Roseburg, Oregon she married Donald Warren Brady and they lived in the Cow Creek Valley for most of her adult life.

She and Donald were partners in every way. They lived, worked, played and raised their three daughters together, rarely being apart in all of their 72 years.

She graduated Valedictorian of her class in Camas Valley, Oregon and her intellect and her talents were evident in everything she did. She worked alongside Donald in their Brady Lumber Company as a cat skinner, before it was completely acceptable, and then pursued pleasures in her woodcarving, painting, quilt making and most importantly, being a mother. She was well loved.

Doris was a member of the Azalea Grange #786 for 74 years and was always the first to respond if someone in the community needed assistance.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Brady of Azalea; daughters, Beverly Brady Doescher and husband Warren, Evalyn Brady Cooper and Susan Brady Satre all of Azalea; five grandchildren, Bret West and wife Christine of Salem, Oregon, Candace Worley and husband Keith Spande of Yamhill, Oregon, Kerwin West and wife Marla of Redmond, Oregon, James Austin of Eugene, Oregon and Everett Worley and wife Annette, both of Eugene, Oregon; three great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and all of her siblings, Carl Fair, Clarence (Buster) Fair, Irene Galbraith and Virginia Madsen and a granddaughter, Melissa Austin Hughey.

No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made to Lovejoy Hospice, 939 SE 8th Street, Grants Pass, Oregon 97526.
