Narcisse Brown was the son of Joseph Brown and Julia St. Cyr Brown, early settlers of Big Lake. Narcisse and his brother George developed the town of Big Lake as a resort, with George creating the lakeside resort and Narcisse, with daughters Jessie and Mae running the Brown Hotel. Narcisse also worked for the railroad. He married Isabelle Powell. She died in 1908 and he died in 1932.
