Alan was born in Lorain, May 29, 1942, to the late Allen Obbey and Virginia Lechner. He was a 1960 graduate of Lorain High School. In the past, for many years Alan was a supervisor/manager at the former K-Mart on State Route 57, Lorain. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his brothers Elliott G. (Kim) Obbey of Amherst and Brian "Scott" Obbey of Elyria, nephews Brian Obbey, Jordan Obbey, Alex Obbey, and Darrell Obbey Jr., and nieces Jamie Lee and Heather Obbey.
In addition to his parents, Alan was preceded in death by his brother Darrell R. Obbey.
Graveside service 1 p.m., Thursday, at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
