Mrs. Gerszewski died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at a local hospital. She was born Feb. 27, 1961, at Coalgate to Mason Elmer and Emilie Lavina Potter Smith.
She graduated from Coalgate High School in 1978. She received a bachelor's degree from Boces Tech in New York.
She married Richard Lucas Gerszewski on June 5, 1992. He died Oct. 21, 2008.
Mrs. Gerszewski was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Countryside Rehab Center in Jefferson, Wis. She was affiliated with Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her father, Mason Smith, Byng; a daughter and son-in-law, LaDawn and Clayton Garrity, Edgewater, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, Derreck and Shannon Brown, Yorba Linda, Calif.; two stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Jennifer and Robert McCourt, Ardmore, and Tracy and Jeff Apkarain, Johnson Creek, Wis.; two sisters and a brother-in law, Cindi and Wayne McGehee, Lone Grove, and Brenda Smith of Ada; a brother, Colin Smith and Dennis Gregson of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren, Robert, Autumn and Emilie Button, Nile, Victoria, Regina and John Henry McCourt, and Adam and Zane Apkarain; numerous nieces and nephews, Jonathan, Katie, Jason, Andrew, Jacinda and Bethany; and friends, Nancie Bays, Slidell, La., and John Ruback, Duncan.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Emilie Smith; her husband, Richard Lucas Gerszewski; and a brother, Darrell Smith.
Bearers are Clayton Garrity, Daniel Beck, Derreck Brown, Colin Smith, Gerald Naffe and Dennis Gregson.
