Services for Mason Elmer Smith, 86, of Ada, will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Rodger Arter will officiate. Burial will follow at the Coalgate Cemetery.
Mr. Smith died Friday, February 2, 2018 at a local hospital. He was born October 14, 1931 in Mt. View, Oklahoma to Elmer and Mary J. Mason Smith.
He married Emilie L. Potter on February 24, 1955 in Okmulgee. She preceded him in death in 2000. Mr. Smith was employed as a radio technician, and with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. He also served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Byng Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia McGehee and husband Wayne of Lone Grove, and Brenda June Smith of Ada; one son, Colin Smith and husband Dennis Gregson of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Doris McAlester of Dallas, TX, and Edith Mae Fenter of Kingston; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Donna Jean Gerszewski; one son, Darrell Smith; four sisters, Mary Lee Welch, Ruth Ann Wear, Naoma Wear, and Helen June Smith; one brother, Buster Smith.
Bearers will be Derreck Brown, Jonathan Riley, Jason Riley, Rodney Coyne, Edward Jefrey, and Wayne McGehee.
