Delbert was a son of the late Raymond Edward and Myrtle (Gower) Bittinger. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Lorraine Dixon, in 1984; his wife of 65 years, Ina Grace Bittinger, in 2001; and one son, Delbert Raymond Jr., in 2004.
He was a member of Faith Evangelical Church, where he had taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and served on many boards. He worked in the building trade most of his life, as well as drove a school bus and owned a Montgomery Ward franchise.
He is survived by three sons; three sisters; 15 grandchildren; and over 30 great-grandchildren.
