John Oliver Waldrop passed away on August 16, 2015 at his home in Pine Grove, LA at the age of 80. He was born December 3, 1934 in McCleod, MS and had been a resident of Baton Rouge and Pine Grove community for many years. He was a 1954 graduate of Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He retired from Honeywell (Allied Chemical) in 1986 with 29 years of service. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs on Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. Visitation on Friday will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Pine Grove beginning at 9:00am. Officiating the services will be Bro. Paul Cantrell, Bro. David Gray, and Bro. Tony Cooksey at 11:00am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. John is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carol Joy Middleton Waldrop, four children, Terry Waldrop, Omaha, NE, Rhonda Waldrop Stennett and spouse Ronald, Haines City, FL, John Mark Waldrop and spouse Cynthia, Pine Grove, LA, Cathy Waldrop Williams and spouse Ivy, Denham Springs, LA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, his brother, Hugh Dudley Waldrop, Las Vegas, NV and his sister Carol Henk, Gold Canyon, AZ. and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Willie Waldrop, stepmother, Genevieve Waldrop, sister, Jewel Boyd, nephew, Terry Dedeaux, grandchild, Rebecca Sendtko. He was a long time member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Pine Grove, LA. John loved gardening and giving his produce to family and friends, and he was rightly named "Farmer John" by his family.
