Tommy A. Griffin was born December 24, 1947 in Gainesville, TX, the son of Vernon L. and Alyne Thompson Griffin. He passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 in the OU Medical Center, Oklahoma City, OK, at the age of 67.

A lifelong resident of this area, Tommy was a 1966 graduate of Marietta High School. He then served in the U.S. Navy from January 1967 to October 1970 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Battle Efficiency Pennant. Tommy retired from the tire building department of Michelin after 32 years of employment and then owned and operated K.D.'s Pecan Shop in Wilson, OK for a number of years. He loved his Corvettes and other fast cars, riding his Harley, cooking and good wine. Known as a prankster, Tommy enjoyed telling jokes and pulling pranks on people. He was a very dedicated blood donor and received numerous awards for his unselfish giving.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Richey Robbins; aunt, Jean Thompson; and uncles, Monroe Thompson, Victor Thompson, James Paul Griffin, Jr., David Griffin, and Warren Griffin.

He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Becki Griffin of Ardmore; sister, Janie Caldwell of Marietta; three nephews, Bucky Caldwell, Greg Griffin, and Blaine Caldwell; niece, Whitney Griffin-Casey; numerous great nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Timmy and Holly Nipp of Wilson.

Serving as casket bearers are Blaine Caldwell, Bucky Caldwell, Greg Griffin, Roger Griffin, Timmy Nipp, and David Griffin.
