He married Geraldine Sanders on May 13, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Last May the couple celebrated their 67 wedding anniversary.
Bob attended local Kaysville schools graduating from Davis High School in 1942. He joined the United States Navy in 1942 and served in the Pacific Theater spending several months on the island of Saipan. Following the war, he was employed at Hill Air Force Base as a mechanic and an aircraft analyst. He retired from Hill Field in 1975 after thirty years of service. He then worked for over ten years with the Utah State Department of Fish and Game.
Bob was active in local civic affairs serving as a member of the Kaysville JC’s. He served as president and was on the board of the local JC organization.
Bob enjoyed traveling with his wife. After his retirement, he was able to visit many states and several foreign countries.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was called as a member of the branch presidency of the Apple Tree Retirement Center and served as a lifelong home teacher.
He is survived by his wife and the following children: Steven (Susan) Major; Sandra (Tom) Dunham, Debi (Dan) Hill, and Lori (Matt) Matsukawa and thirteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Paul, Virginia, Grace and Gloria.
