Christine Beam, age 83, passed away Friday, August 14, 2015, at Abingdon Health and Rehab Center.

She was a native of Dickenson County, Va. and had lived in Washington County, Va. since 1984. Christine was a devoted wife, loving mother and caring friend. She was an avid knitter and especially loved crocheting. She attended Damascus Road Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Dutton and Hattie Wallace Dutton Rose; her husband, Daniel G. Beam; one son, Steve Beam; two sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include one son, David E. Beam and wife Taletha of Cottage Grove, Tenn.; one daughter-in-law, Suzan Beam of Gold Canyon, AZ; two grandsons, Rob Alan Beam and wife Lisa and Nathan Daniel Beam and wife Danika; six great grandchildren; one brother, Benny Harold Rose and wife Phyllis of Marion, OH; dear friends, Patsy and Jack Triplett of Abingdon; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2015, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John E. Massey, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Rob Beam, Jack Triplett, Mickie Pruitt, Jeff Austin, Steve Dutton, Terrence Beam and Steven Henson. Honorary pallbearer will be North Yates.
