MATTHEW SENTER
Matthew Rufus Senter, 98, Newtonia died at 6:15 a.m. July 10, 1995, at Freeman-Neosho Hospital, after a short illness.

Mr. Senter was born Nov. 17, 1896, in the Simcoe Community in McDonald County. He moved to Newton County as a boy. He was a dairy farmer for many years retiring to Newtonia in 1970.

He was a member of the Newtonia Baptist Church where he served as a church deacon for several years.

He married Bernice Nunn on Nov. 29, 1933, at Pierce City. She survives.

Additional survivors include a son; a daughter; three sisters; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Clark Funeral Home, Granby, with Rev. Mark Senter and Rev. Charles Brock officiating.

Burial will be in Granby Memorial Cemetery with Curtis Reynolds, Dan Hawkins, Homer Heilig, David Wormington, Walter Woodrum, and Neil Goade serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Missouri Baptist Children's Home in care of the funeral home.
