Mr. Holmes was born June 13, 1926 in Pennington to James Henry and Annie Lee Reynolds Holmes. He attended Pennington school and graduated from Pennington High School. He attended A&M University. Mr. Holmes was a retired rancher and also a member of the SPJST. He was preceded in death by his wife Loretta Gilbert Holmes.

His funeral will be held August 18, 2015 by Callaway Funeral Home in Crockett, TX.
