PORT ALBERT

On Thursday a large number of settlers from the surrounding- settlements followed to the grave in the Wellsford Cemetery the late Mr Walter Treadwell. The deceased was the second son of Mr J. Treadwell, our "village blacksmith." The deceased was a quiet, steady, industrious young man, aged 26. years. A few months ago he was strong and hearty, but was taken ill and removed to the Auckland Hospital, where he died on the previous Saturday.
