Amanda M. Surfus Answers Summons

Death Occurs At Her Home In Warren And Funeral To Be Held Sunday

Mrs. Amanda M. Surfus, 80, wife of Chalmers Surfus, died Wednesday afternoon at her home in Warren. She had been ill six months from paralysis.

The decedent was born in Cass county on Feb. 1, 1858 to Adam and Sarah Irick Surface. Her first marriage was to Henry Fudge on Aug 12, 1875. She lived with him on a farm in Liberty township until his death on Sept. 12, 1930. Her marriage to Mr. Surfus was solemnized on Mar. 14, 1934.

Surviving are the husband, and three daughters and one son by her first marriage: Mrs. Celestia Mounsey and Mrs. Emery Blair, of Salamonie township, Huntington county; Mrs. W. E. Weekley, of Mexia, Texas, and Orville Fudge, of Los Angeles, Calif.

Mrs. Surfus was a member of the Mt. Zion United Brethren church.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Sunday morning at the Boehmer M. P. church in charge of Rev. C. H. Slusher, of Warren. Burial will be in the Woodlawn cemetery at Warren.
