Son of Hardin County Allin and Elizabeth Stott per state records and federal censuses of 1840/50/60 (see HC Allin's memorial for all siblings). Born and raised in Edgar County, IL.

Enlisted August 7, 1862 at age 19 per records. Initially enlisted as corporal with father, Lt. HC Allin in Company H, Fourth Indiana Cavalry during Civil War. During the war his rank was reduced and he was discharged as a private in June 1865,m per government records.

Was a shoe/bootmaker as were his father and sons Charles and Oda.
Husband of Lera Elizabeth Leonard. Moved to Missouri.
Father of Lenia Pirl Allin, Charles Willard Allin and Oda Louis Allin (1888-1921).

Was a widower when he passed away in 1926. Death/burial of wife Lera not yet verfied.
