Forsyth . . . Lewis Eli Hencely, Jr. passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Burial will be private. Rev. Dean Conkel will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Hencely, the son of the late Lewis Eli Hencely, Sr. and Bertha Ann Lunsford Hencely was born October 2, 1937, in Juliette, Georgia. He retired from Monroe County Board of Education as bus garage supervisor. Mr. Hencely was a veteran of the Georgia Army National Guard.

Survivors include his children, Mark (Teresa) Hencely of Cochran and Gail (Denny) Scott of Statesboro; brother, Wilson Hencely of Forsyth; four grandchildren; and his loving dog “Poncho”.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Save A Pet, Post Office Box 933, Forsyth, GA 31029.
