Adolph Ista, 92, West Fargo, ND, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2015 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Funeral services will be on Friday, August 14, at 1:30 PM at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton, ND with Rev. Harvey Henderson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Chapel. Interment will be at Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Rural Walcott, ND. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Adolph was born on July 31, 1923 at the family farm in rural Walcott, ND to LeRoy and Maude (Hancock) Ista. He grew up on the farm and attended school and graduated from Colfax High School. He worked on the family farm and in the fall of 1946 he enlisted in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1947.

Adolph was united in marriage to Eyvonne Lokken on February 25, 1952 at Zion United Methodist Church. They farmed in the Walcott area and moved for a few years to Battle Lake, MN. They moved back to Walcott until 1972 when they moved to West Fargo, ND where he started doing work as a carpenter until he retired in 1988. Eyvonne preceded him in death on November 23, 1998. Adolph continued to live in his home to the present date.

Adolph enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, playing cards, and reading. He also loved the time spent with his family.

Adolph is survived by his daughters, Sandy Jones, Fargo, ND, Susan (Thomas) Viland, Walcott, ND, Lisa (James) Amann, Hawley, MN, Velvet (Kevin) Streifel, West Fargo, ND, Rosemary (David) Olson, Wyndmere, ND; his fifteen grandchildren; his 22 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Margie Crowell, Napa, CA, and Lorraine Kurth, Marshall, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Maude Ista, his wife, Eyvonne, his son, LeRoy Michael Ista, his brothers, John, Allen, and LeRoy Ista, and his sister, Beverly Trimble.
